Caspian Sea states envision $200b trade in 2020

BANDAR ANZALI, May 6 (MNA) – The five Caspian Sea littoral states have predicted their annual trade to reach $200 billion by the next 10 years, the director of Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) stated here on Wednesday.

Ali Taheri made the statement on the sidelines of the first joint meeting of port managers of the Caspian Sea littoral states in the port city of Bandar Anzali.

 

The annual trade between the five Caspian Sea states namely Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Iran is currently some $35 billion and the countries have sought ways to increase the figure to $200 billion in a period of 10 years, according to IRNA.

 

The two-day joint meeting of port managers of the Caspian Sea littoral states   wrapped up on May 6.
